I really did enjoy working at Georgia Retina, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their foot in the door of healthcare. However, you can build some great relationships with the patients since many of them return to the clinic frequently. Once you master every part of the job (workup, taking pictures, hall, scribing) there is not really anything left to learn and the days are very monotonous. There is a high turnover here, people only stay for a year or two, but you can make a career out of it if you want to, and some people do. Everyone thought they were just "helping out the call center for a while" but really it turned into a permanent job duty of the techs, which is unfair. Even though I was a tech, HR put call center duties on us for our no-doctor days. HR has been a joke over the past year, more people quit out of frustration with HR than anything else. When I started the pay was good, with a small raise given every year (more if you have great reviews). I feel like I have gained so much knowledge about the eye since working here. This job is great for someone starting out in healthcare, they will train you on everything you need to know and do- Just be a willing learner and a team player and. Conditions that specifically affect the retina include: Age-related macular degeneration. Without Retina Display technology, iPhones had a jaggie look on certain angles, because the pixels are oriented in a square grid pattern. I truly have enjoyed working at Georgia Retina, and I loved working with my coworkers and patients. The retina can be affected by many conditions that damage your eye. The purpose of Retina Display technology is to make curves and angled lines appear to be smooth lines. Overall, I’m very very happy with this company and think I will be staying for quite some time.

They will pay for you to get certified, let you observe surgeries, and will pay for you to get your surgical assisting license as well. We accept one new fellow each year and two the following year. Everyone is respectful and professional while still having fun. My manager and HR representative are great and I feel I can talk to them. Often the office will cater lunch for everyone. I feel I am compensated fairly despite no experience.
PTO accrual every 2 weeks, no weekends, 5 days off when you’re first hired before you have PTO in case you have an appointment or something. I’m still pretty new but compared to a lot of companies out there, Georgia Retina is a god send.
